The building of the Titanic is not only an amazing engineering story but it is a story about the over 14,000 men who were involved in her construction, most of whom lived and worked in Belfast. The Titanic doesn't just represent their skills and labour but also their hopes and dreams. As she took shape under their fingers so their dreams of a life away from the increasing sectarian and political troubles of Belfast took shape.
And when news that 22 of their friends, neighbours and colleagues had been lost with the ship many stopped to asked themselves whether it was their fault.
